4. General Information of the Chinese sponsor
a. Company Introduction:
Wuxi General Petrochemcal Works (Wuxi Resin Factory) was established in 1958.For 40 years,It has assembled elite personnel to undertake pioneering research and development work on epoxy resin and BPA in China. Main products are: variouse types of epoxy resin resin, Bisphenol A, ion-exchange resin, unsatured polyester and F.R.P, gasoline, diesel oil and other related chemicals.
Wuxi General Petrochemcal Works( Wuxi Resin Factory )is located at the north-east part of WUXI city. It enjoys very convenient transportation conditions connected with high ways, railway, and canal. It is 128km west of SHANGHAI, and 183km east of NANJING. And to it's north is YANGTZE RIVER. It is only 42km from the open port ZHANGJIAGANG.
The factory has total assets 653.94 million yuan, fixed assets 288.35 million yuan. Employees 1674 and 317 technical staffs in 2001
b. Existing plants:
Epoxy resin plant: 13000 mt/y, rank leading position in China for its capacity and product types.
Bisphenol A plant: 16000 mt/y, it is the only 10,000 mt/y grade commercial plant In China which fills the domestic market blank. The process is introduced from oland which use ion-exchange resin as catalyst. The product BPA can meet both epoxy resin and polycarbonate production.A new set of BPA plantwithcapacity25,000mt/y,process introduced from Chidyo ,Japan ,is on construction, it will start production in thefourth quarter of 2003.
c . Develop of the company
Wuxi General Petrochemcal Works( Wuxi Resin Factory )merged to China Blue-Star (Group) Corporation in October in 1997,The company will speed up the technical reform and development, stress on on the development of fine chemicals such as epoxy resin , BPA and polycarbonate , Wuxi Co. gradually become a fine chemical industrial zone
5. Project Analysis:
In the next decade , the Chinese industrial will be focus on viele,v eneger, transportation, electronics, construction fields, which will form the strong demands for epoxy resin. It is predicted that the demands for epoxy resin will reach about 250 thousand tons per year in domestic market.
6. Scale of inverstment estimated: 50 million RMB
7. Cooperate intention:
a) Joint ventur /joint operation investment for foreign partner 40 – 50 %
b) Sponsor will supply the technology, foreign partner also can supply advanced epoxy resin technology. c) If in joint venture condition, the foreign partner can provide management and marketing experience. Both for domestic and international market.
